alegna_t13 SG Hi, I'm doing renovation for my friend and she has 2 cats. What should I take into considerations when designing the place? Any materials I must avoid? Thank you in advance for your valuable suggestions.
Wanda SG Oops, this may be too late, but anyway, a friend of mine designed her window grilles and gate with a narrower space in between the grilles so that an adult cat would not be likely to squeeze itself out. In most cases, a happy house cat is unlikely to want to go out, so the narrower grilles would just be a deterrent. It's also good to have a door to the kitchen in case they want to keep the cats out of it for some reason. Other things to consider: try to avoid having surfaces with rough textures which cats seem to like to rub their paws or claws on, e.g. textured wall surfaces (with tiny bits of rocks - forgot what it's called), and textured sofa covers. Try to avoid having little nooks and corners (like behind the tv or electrical applicances) where the cat can hide, if you don't want to spend time hunting for your cat who likes to play hide-and-seek. ps: I have 2 10-mth young lovely cats for adoption - both were rescued and are healthy and sterilised. Pls PM me if anyone is interested.
Deportivo SG I have a house cat that loves to play with my dried flowers left in the vase. She jumps up to touch the flowers with her paws. She broke 2 vases already. What a buggeration! Maybe you can design a non-intrusive cat litter for your friend. I wanted to get the Kattbank but it is overly expensive. If you can fabricate for your friend, let me know and i will be interested to buy it from you. http://www.kattbank.com/home.htm Wanda, you interested?
Wanda SG Deportivo, where's your cat in the pic? And are you running/living in a restaurant? Whereabout are u? I live in a 4-rm flat leh...got no space for the kattbank lah, even if I can afford it.
Deportivo SG She's not in the pic. I am not running a restaurant. The pic was just to use as an illustration of the vase i was referring to. Ai yo, the kattbank is very space saving leh.
